Life Screams is the first full-length, solo studio album by Lacey Sturm. It was released on February 12th, 2016 by FOLLOWSPOT Records.

Background[]

The album name was announced on September 27th, 2015 via Instagram with the hashtag #LifeScreams. The album name is taken from the title track "Life Screams". The original release date was January 29th, 2016.

Production[]

They officially began recording the album in LA at The Emergency Room in June of 2015; recording "Life Screams", "Impossible", "Faith", "You're Not Alone", "The Soldier", and "Feels Like Forever". They went back to LA at the end of August to finish recording. They recorded "Rot", "I'm Not Laughing", and "Run to You". Ben Hull later added bass in September.

Only two songs have been confirmed as omitted tracks: "The Mystery" and "Sacred".

Artwork[]

The artwork was officially revealed on October 29th, 2015 via an Instagram scanvegerhunt. However, the artwork had already been seen by many due to Amazon putting the first single's (which shares the same artwork) pre-order up too early.

The album tracklisting was revealed via Sturm's Periscope livestream on December 1st, 2015 after it was put up for preorder on Amazon. The tracklisting consists of 9 original tracks, a dialogue, and a live cover.

Singles[]

The first promotional single from the record, "Impossible", was announced on October 27th, 2015. It premiered on November 1st on SiriusXM's Octane channel and went into full rotation. Due to the positive reception, the single was released early on November 4th on iTunes and Amazon. It peaked at #2 on the iTunes Rock charts and #29 on the Billboard charts, staying in the top 100 for five weeks.

The music video for the second single, "Rot", premiered on Yahoo! Music on August 24th, 2016.
